CPA stands for Cost Per Action. The cost is to the advertiser, the action is the potential customer filling in their information, thus creating a lead for the advertiser to follow up. So if you can drive traffic to the advertiser’s lead capture offer, you get paid for every person who responds.
Some lead capture offers only require a zip code, or more commonly, and email address. The advertiser will generally pay $1 or $2 per lead in this case. But you’d be surprised, a skilled CPA affiliate can generate thousands of these leads PER DAY.
A lot of other CPA offers require a person to fill in their name, email, a survey that identifies which product they’re most interested in, their mailing address, and even their phone number, depending on the type of offer they’re responding to.
Advertisers may pay as high as $140 for a lead that fills out these longer forms.
An advantage of working as a CPA affiliate, is that you the potential customer doesn’t have to pull out their credit card and buy anything for you to get paid. They just express their interest in the product by filling in their personal information, and you earn a commission.
